The «Nightwatchman». - another job that no longer exists in its traditional version. We had the classic in mind: the lonely watchman with his lantern, halberd and keyring. One with whom the city can confidently go to sleep, knowing that he is watching over it. Like a homely Batman. Then we remembered today's night watchmen usually sit in the cold artificial light of reception desks, with empty coffee mugs and the deepest and darkest of bags under their eyes. But does this make them any less romantic? The Nachtwächter, by the way, is the larger version of the Tagträumer («daydreamer»). Because you need bigger glasses in the dark.
